Rebuild Florida and City of Miami to assist homeowners

(Miami, FL November 9, 2018) - The City of Miami’s Little Havana NET office will welcome representatives from Rebuild Florida, a program created to help Florida recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Irma. City homeowners seeking financial assistance to repair homes damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Irma will receive assistance from Tuesday, November 13 through Friday, November 16.
Rebuild Florida representatives will verify the information provided by homeowners in the registration process, and invite eligible homeowners to apply for the Housing Repair Program. This program assists families across the hardest-hit communities of the state, with a priority of aiding those residents who are most vulnerable, including the elderly, those with disabilities, and families with children aged five and younger, based on Florida’s Action Plan for Disaster Recovery which prioritizes low-income individuals and families in the most-impacted counties.
Ultimately, homeowners who continue the process will enter into an agreement with the state setting forth the terms and conditions of the program and a contract for construction services.
