Pick up Application and gather documents

A paper application can be picked up during the application period at Miami City Hall or at one of the Commissioner District Offices throughout the City. The applicant should then gather all the necessary supporting documentation requested on the application itself. This includes:

Submit by Deadline

After completing the application, and gathering the required supporting documentation, the applicant should submit it all in one package as indicated on the application itself no later than Tuesday, January 2, 2024, 5 p.m. All applications received during the application period will be considered as applying at the same time. It does not matter if an application is received on the first or last day. Please mail in only one application per household. Any household that submits more than one will be disqualified. Submission of an application does not guarantee assistance.

District Lotteries and Waitlists

After the application period closes on January 2, 2024, 5 p.m., applications will be reviewed for preliminary eligibility and applicants found to be ineligible (lives outside of the City of Miami, applicant not 62+ years of age, lives in public housing) will not be included in the subsequent District lotteries. Due to the volume of applications anticipated, we will not contact applicants who are found to be ineligible.

Subsequently, applications that meet preliminary eligibility will be separated by District. Each District will hold an independent, computer-based lottery to establish a numerical system for processing applications. Please check back on this page for further updates on the District lotteries. This program is operated based on available funding and will close at the discretion of the City of Miami.

NOTE: Once an applicant is called from a waitlist, the applicant’s landlord (property owner) will be contacted to supply a W-9 to the City of Miami.
