Prepare to Apply

This service applies to certain fire inspections, which include the following:

• Smoke test 
• Generator test
• Fire Alarm Test

NOTE: Any other inspection/test will require special permission from the Fire Marshal or their designee. Continue with the application, below, and you'll be notified if your permission has been granted.

Review Fees

• The basic cost for after-hours fire inspections is $104/hour (per inspector), with a minimum of four hours. 
• Certain tests will require more than one inspector such as smoke test (two inspectors) and generator test (two or more). You will be notified how many inspectors are needed.

Pay Invoice

After your application is reviewed, you'll receive an invoice from the Fire Prevention Bureau with a transaction ID. You can use that ID to pay your invoice through our online system.

Wait to Hear From Inspector

After your form has been reviewed and your payment received, you will hear from an inspector to schedule your inspection. This will usually be within two business days. 

Cancellations

NOTE: Once your inspection has been scheduled, if you need to cancel, you must notify your inspector and Captain Dominguez (786-553-0780) by 3pm that day, or you will be charged the full fee.
