Another battle has been won in the fight against litter: last week, the City of Miami in partnership with Frost Science MUVE (Museum Volunteers for the Environment) hosted a volunteer cleaned up with a 300-meter stretch of the northern point of Virginia Key Beach, collecting about 420 gallons of trash. Volunteers were able to track the types of debris collected using the Clean Swell App and physical data sheets to provide to researchers at the Ocean Conservancy.

The City of Miami looks forward to working with residents and local entities to continue beach cleanups, as well as other cleanups throughout the needed areas of the city.
