As part of the City’s partnership with SOP Technologies, the Department of Resilience and Public Works expects to have all planned stormwater inlet filters installed by the end of this month. The filters are being installed in 20 specific locations across the city where large amounts of trash regularly accumulate in stormwater drains. These filters will help prevent trash, leaves and other debris from entering the stormwater system, keeping pollution out of local waterways, minimizing clogs in drainage pipes, and ultimately saving the City of Miami money on stormwater system cleaning and repairs by capturing debris at the street level.
