This week, Mayor Francis Suarez delivered his annual State of the City Address at the Pérez Art Museum Miami in downtown Miami. The Mayor touched upon his main priorities – Resilience, Quality of Life and Pathways to Prosperity – highlighting many of the accomplishments that the City collectively achieved over the past year. They include the following: 

  • Released the Miami Forever Climate Ready Strategy, which provides a road map for the City to reduce flooding and storm impacts over the next 40 years  
  • Launched Tranche 1 of the Miami Forever Bond, beginning more than 30 resilience projects citywide
  • Launched the Senior Rental Assistance Program, supporting fixed-income seniors and boosting Miami’s economic resilience 
  • Achieved the highest bond rating – AA – Miami’s history 
  • Grew the tax base by more than 10 percent, with $3 billion in new construction
  • Marked the lowest homicide rate in more than 50 years
