(Miami, FL March 13, 2019) - This Saturday, March 16, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Miami District 3 Commissioner Joe Carollo will join Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins for a Farm Share food distribution event in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. The event will also bring together more than a dozen Little Havana-based nonprofits to offer participating families a host of social services, including immigration counsel, citizenship information, and ways to improve personal health.
The Farm Share event will feature a walk-through of fruit, vegetables and other nutritious food at no cost to residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Participating residents must bring their own container or bag. In addition to the food distribution and social services by local non-profits, residents will also be able to enjoy music, children’s activities and raffles.
