Water Park Attendant – Part Time

Must be at least 16 years old and be able to pass the Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding Certification exam offered by the City of Miami within 30 days of appointment into the classification.
 
NOTE:
Employees in this classification will be required to work various shifts, to include nights, holidays and weekends.

Lifeguard I – Part Time

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application. Proof of age must be submitted in one of the following forms issued by the United States of America Government: State Driver's License/Identification card, Birth Certificate, Naturalization Certificate or valid U.S. Passport at the time of electronic application submission.

The following valid certificates and/or wallet card(s) issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency must be possessed at time of application and maintained valid throughout employment:

  • Lifeguard Training
  • First Aid
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Certifications must be valid through September 30, 2019.
Must be able to pass the City of Miami's performance test, which may include swimming, running and simulate rescue exercises.

Water Safety Inspector – Part Time

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at time of application. Proof of age must be submitted in one of the following forms issued by the United States of America Government: State Driver's License/Identification card, Birth Certificate, Naturalization Certificate or valid U.S. Passport at the time of electronic application submission.

Six (6) months of experience teaching/training swimming and water safety. Six (6) months working with persons with disabilities may be preferred.  Must be able to pass the City of Miami's performance test, which may include swimming, running, and simulated rescue exercises.

The following valid certificates and/or wallet card(s) issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency must be possessed at time of application and maintained valid throughout employment:

  1. Water Safety Instructor
  2. Lifeguard Training
  3. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  4. Standard First Aid

Certifications must be valid through September 30, 2019

Lifeguard II – Part Time

A high school diploma or its equivalent and six (6) months of experience as a lifeguard.

The following valid certificates, and/or wallet card(s) issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency, must be possessed at time of application and maintained valid throughout employment:

  1. National Recreation and Park Association Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Certification or National Swimming Pool Foundation Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) Certification
  2. Lifeguard Training
  3. First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  4. Water Safety Instructor
  5. Lifeguard Instructor

Certifications must be valid through September 30, 2019.

Must be able to pass the City of Miami's performance test, which may include swimming, running and simulate rescue exercises.

Lifeguard Ocean Part Time

Applicants must be 18 years of age at time of application. 

A standard high school diploma or its equivalent and six (6) months experience as a lifeguard.

Additionally, the following certificates issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency are required and must be possessed at time of application and maintained current throughout employment:

  1. Lifeguard Training
  2. First Aid
  3. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  4. Emergency Medical Response Certification

 A Valid Driver's License from any state (Equivalent to a State of Florida Class E)
Must be able to pass the City of Miami's performance test, which may include swimming, running, and simulated rescue exercises.

Bus Driver – Part Time

High school diploma or its equivalent and six (6) months experience operating school buses or vehicles designed to transport 16 or more passengers. A valid State of Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class B or higher) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is required and must be maintained valid throughout employment.
