The City of Miami continues to take a forward-looking approach to supporting working mothers who choose to breastfeed by providing them with a clean, dignified and private space to pump at Miami City Hall. With the support of the Office of Miami City Manager Art Noriega, Miami’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Programs (EODP) recently acquired a Mamava lactation suite, which is now housed in the City’s historic headquarters at Dinner Key.

Mamava lactation suites, or pods, are freestanding spaces that provide a clean, comfortable and private option for new mothers to breastfeed or pump. Comfortably compact, the Mamava Solo pod which was recently installed at Miami City Hall is designed specifically for breastfeeding women to pump while at work. The pods provide easy access for moms, as well as flexibility for the facilities where they are housed.

All of Mamava’s lactation pods are accessed through the free Mamava app, which guides mom to a pod’s location, opens the pod with the touch of a button and allows mom to customize lighting and airflow. Using the app, moms can also leave digital notes of encouragement for other moms and listen to soothing sounds to help with letdown.

The City of Miami is proud to support mothers with a clean, comfortable and dignified place to use a breast pump distraction-free, whether while on the job or while visiting City Hall.
