Commissioner Joe Carollo, the Bayfront Park Management Trust Chairman, invites the media on Wednesday, December 11, for a construction tour of Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) solar installation at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater. Project updates, tours and interviews will be available from Commissioner Joe Carollo, Bayfront Park Management Trust Chairman, alongside FPL solar developers.

The large solar installation features more than 500 solar panels and will offset the carbon footprint of the amphitheater’s concerts. The partnership between FPL, City of Miami and the Bayfront Park Management Trust brings more emissions-free energy to Miami in an iconic location that helps signify the community’s commitment to renewable energy to both residents and visitors from around the world. In addition to the solar canopy over the amphitheater, the project includes seven solar trees throughout Bayfront Park.

Editor's Note: Please note to dress appropriately. Everyone entering the construction site must wear long pants, and a pair of sturdy closed-toe boots, steel-toed preferred. No open toed shoes or high heels will be permitted. Safety vests, hard hats, and safety glasses are required for this event and will be provided.
