Gordian awarded the Harry H. Mellon Award of Merit to the City of Miami for the Virginia Key Restoration Project due to its Job Order Contract process (JOC) - one of three nationwide projects that were selected in 2021 to receive this award. Groundbreaking Announcement – Construction will start July 6, 2020!
The City of Miami, District 2 Commissioner Ken Russell and the Department of Parks and Recreation proudly
announce the start of the construction of the Seawall Restoration and Floating Dock at
Lamar Lake (formerly known as Jimbo’s Lagoon)
Improvements will include:
- Seawall Restoration with native riprap lime rock and live vegetation
- Construction of a new ADA compliant Floating Dock with grating deck top and aluminum gangway
- New Crushed-Shell Walkway, ADA compliant (8 feet-wide)
- Preservation of existing landscaping and addition of new native trees
