Human Services Helping Hands

The City of Miami’s Department of Human Services aims to unify the collaborative efforts of the City Manager’s Office, City of Miami Departments, and local Community Organizations to improve the delivery of human services to economically disadvantaged families and individuals.  Acting as a gateway to self-sufficiency, the goal is to streamline efforts to promote and communicate citizen awareness of available programs while increasing the overall delivery of services through the Department of Human Services.

We thank you for your efforts to feed the homeless and less fortunate within the City of Miami.

This permit allows the City to manage large group feedings in our public spaces with advance notice, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for our citizens. This also allows Homeless Outreach to provide robust services during the street feedings. Please note that during the threat of COVID, we are encouraging individuals and organizations to not participate in large group feedings. If you choose to participate in large group feedings, please follow CDC guidelines.

To apply for a large group feeding permit, please click here: Large Group Feedings

NOTE: DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF TRASH AND GARBAGE LEFT AFTER FEEDINGS, WE ARE ONLY ALLOWING ONE FOOD DISTRIBUTION PER LOT THROUGHOUT THE DAY.  IF AN ORGANIZATION HAS ALREADY SECURED THE LOT FOR ANY TIME DURING THE DAY THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ISSUE YOU A PERMIT.
