Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs.  In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: *

  1. Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing by a four-fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote, after an advertised public hearing, ratifying approving, and confirming the City Manager's finding, that competitive negotiation methods and procedures are not practicable or advantageous for the City of Miami ("City") pursuant to Sections 29-b(a) of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended (“City Charter”), and Section 18-182(c) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended (“City Code”); waiving the requirements for said procedures; authorizing the City Manager to transfer the City-Owned properties located at 750 NW 70 Street and 754 NW 70 Street (“Project”), Miami, Florida, to Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation (“MLKEDC”), a Florida not for profit corporation, for use as rental housing to city residents at or below 80% of area median income as stipulated by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) annually for thirty years (30) from the date of transfer.

* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.

† † This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begin on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 and ends on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. The proposed amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at the City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development office located at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2 Floor, Miami, FL 33132 (HCD Address).  Comments to amendment(s) must be submitted to: nancyromani@miamigov.com, Attn: Nancy Romani, and must be received no later than March 6, 2023. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. The meeting site is accessible to the handicapped.
