Mayor Francis Suarez Appoints Melissa Krinzman as Venture Capitalist in Residence

thumbnail_Melissa_K_VL_113.jpg February 2021 - Melissa Krinzman has been officially appointed as the City of Miami’s first VC-in-Residence, a one-year assignment to support Mayor Francis Suarez’s efforts to accelerate the growth of Miami’s tech community.  
 
With the support of Knight Foundation, Melissa works with growth-oriented founders, investors and community leaders to identify and execute on the lever points that will catapult them to success and strengthen Miami at large.
 
Melissa Krinzman has a 25-year history of launching, growing, advising and investing in early-stage companies. In 2014, Melissa, in partnership with Jeffrey Miller, co-founded Krillion Ventures, a seed stage venture capital firm based in Miami, FL. Krillion, a Miami-first fund, prioritizes the review of and investment in seed stage investments based in South Florida in HealthTech, FinTech, and PropTech. 
Prior to Krillion Ventures, Melissa worked with over 1,000 companies that raised more than $1B in investment capital using business plans developed by Venture Architects, the business planning firm she founded in New York City in 1998. 
 
Melissa began her career as a member of the start-up teams for three national nonprofit organizations — Points of Light Foundation, Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management, and DoSomething. In addition to serving as a Board Advisor to many of Krillion Ventures’ portfolio companies, Melissa is a Founding Board Member of Beacon College Prep and Miami Angels, and serves on the Board of Trustees of Ransom Everglades School. Melissa was born and raised in Miami and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University.
