City of Miami's Developer Portal

Welcome to our API Developer Portal, where we’ll be making City of Miami data more accessible to technologists, researchers, and application developers.

This site is still in its infancy, but we didn’t want to wait to start sharing what we have. Please use it, tell us what we can improve, and recommend new high-value data sets you would like to see available.

Submit Feedback

Internally, we have created a new API program to develop standards and push out more interfaces, ultimately promoting innovation and transparency by publishing data in open, accessible, and reusable formats. We are using these same APIs to build some of our citizen-facing interfaces.

Here is an example that leverages our 311 geospatial API:

City of Miami Address History (alpha)

The data and information provided by these APIs are explicitly intended for public use and dissemination. We are excited to have you explore and find new ways to make Miami a better place to live.

Authentication

You do not need to authenticate to explore most of our data sets for now. However, our vision is to provide API keys for more robust use of our APIs in the near future.

Datasets and API Endpoints

Our geospatial (GIS) datasets are available via two main APIs on our public platform: Geoservice and GeoJson.

The City of Miami continually updates the APIs and datasets, so check back often. Our catalog primarily consists of geospatial Open Data via our open data site but stay tuned as we are currently working on growing our developer portal.
