Applications for this program are no longer being accepted, as all available funding has been committed. 

The Eviction Prevention Program (EPP), for eligible renter households within City limits (property address must begin with Folio 01) provides up to $7,000 (one-time) towards the rental arrears of qualifying City households who are: (1) 80% Area Median Income or below*; (2) experienced job loss or income reduction on or after March 1st due to COVID-19; and (3) submit a completed application package that includes photocopies of all required supporting documents.

Starting Monday, August 3, August 3, 9 am, interested persons can download the Application for Eviction Prevention Program form . Persons can also pick up a paper application at a City of Miami NET officePlease confirm that your rental property is located within City of Miami limits (property folio must begin with 01) before filling out an application. This program will remain open until funds are exhausted. The program is presently being revamped and an announcement will be issued once updates are finalized. and For questions on the EPP, please call 305-416-2080.

Photocopy and Attach Required Documentation

Interested renters must consult with their landlords to gather some of the required supporting documentation specified on the application form. The assistance will be paid directly to the qualifying renter’s landlord. Landlords can opt to not participate in this program. The required supporting documents are as follows:

  • Copy of current, executed lease agreement (signed by landlord and renter)
  • Proof that a member of the applicant household lost his/her job or had a reduction in income after March 1, 2020
  • State of Florida issued photo ID with City address for all adult household members (age 18 and up)
  • Proof of household income for all adult household members: Income Self-certification form (included in application)
  • Three-day eviction notice signed by landlord. (Required)
  • Rent verification form signed by landlord (included in application)
  • W-9 form and ACH form signed by landlord (included in application)

Submit One Application Package

To be processed, submissions must include the application form along with photocopies of all required documents in one sealed envelope that can be sent via U.S. Mail to the PO BOX noted on the application form or dropped off at the Department of Housing & Community Development, 14 NE 1 Ave., Lobby Drop Box, Miami, FL 33132, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Incomplete application packages (missing documents) will not be processed and will be disqualified. Documents cannot be returned to the applicant.

The program has just over $300,000 in available funding. Due to limited funds, applicants will be assisted on a first-come, first-ready, first serve basis. Applicants cannot receive EPP assistance for any month during which they are receiving rental funds from another local, state or federal program. Applicants who owe more than $7,000 in rental arrears will be referred to the HAND Program. Applying for the EPP, or receiving assistance through the EPP, does not guarantee that the applicant will not be evicted.
