Grocery Gift Card Program

The City of Miami Mayor and City Commissioners in collaboration with Publix Supermarkets and through the funding of the CARES ACT are distributing $250 Publix Grocery Gift Cards to City of Miami residents who have experienced hardship and food insecurity in 2020 due to COVID-19 (limited to one per household). The distribution is on a first come, first serve basis and while supplies last.

Program Requirements:

• MUST be a City of Miami Resident (proof of residency required in the form of a driver’s license or any other form of photo ID showing City address). Each address will be verified to ensure the address provided is within City limits. If you are unsure, check your address and district with our map tool. (TIP: Use the magnifying glass to search your address).

MUST provide a signed application in-person at your district attesting to the fact that you have faced a financial hardship due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. (See available for download, below).  We encourage you to have your application printed & signed prior to arrival at each site to reduce your wait time.  Applications can not be accepted online or via mail, only in-person, at your district, at the below locations and times.

• Limited to one card per household. Cards are issued on a first come first serve basis (while supplies last).

NOTE: Applications that provide an address outside of City of Miami limits or provide non-valid forms of identification will not be accepted and cannot be processed.  If a household has already received a gift card, additional applications will not be processed.

How to Apply

Step 1.Collect Documents

In order to apply for a card, the following documents will be required:

  • State of Florida issued picture ID card with a City of Miami address.
  • signed application that shows you/the resident has been affected by Covid-19 (see below).
  • Grocery Gift Card applications can only be presented in person at the locations, dates and times in the chart below. (This information is subject to change).  Applications submitted by email, regular mail or through by any other means, cannot be accepted.

Step 2.Review Rules

  • Only one grocery gift card per household.
  • MUST have faced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • MUST have a State issued ID showing a City of Miami address.  (For seniors, or the elderly that do not drive, the following can also be used; a Social Security letter with a City of Miami address, Medicare letter with a City of Miami address,  utility statement in their name with a City of Miami address), but only if they do not have a valid Florida issued photo ID.

NOTE: This program is only for City of Miami residents, not all Miami-Dade residents. If you're unsure whether your address is within the City of Miami limits, check your address and district with our map tool. (TIP: Use the magnifying glass to search and type slowly while it generates options.  If your address does not show up or falls outside a highlighted area, it's likely not in City of Miami).

Step 3.Download, Print & Sign Application

NOTE: Grocery Gift Card applications can only be presented in person at your district at the locations, dates and times in the chart below. (These times are subject to change).  Applications submitted by email, regular mail or through by any other means, cannot be accepted.
