Disqualifications and Warnings from the FF PAT “Guidelines” Document

CHECK-IN/REPORTING

  1. Appearing after appointment time*²˒³
  2. Failing to provide a picture ID (e.g., Driver’s license, City ID, military ID, passport)*³
  3. Failing to wear closed heel and toe shoes*¹
  4. Refusal to remove sunglasses/hats/caps/jewelry*¹˒³
  5. Failing to “attend and complete” at least one (1) PAT walkthrough*³

EVENT #1: STAIR CLIMB SIMULATION (20 Second Warm-Up)

  1. Stepping/Falling off or Dismounting the stair climb machine**¹

EVENT #1 Cont.: STAIR CLIMB SIMULATION (3 Minute Test)

  1. Grasping/Holding/Leaning on the railings**¹
  2. Stepping/Falling off or dismounting*¹

EVENT #2: CHARGED HOSE PULL

  1. Failing to stand with both feet behind the Starting Line*¹
  2. Walking backwards*¹
  3. Dragging the nozzle*¹
  4. Failing to cross the Finish Line with both feet and nozzle*¹˒²
  5. Failing to cross the Finish Line between the cones*¹

EVENT #3: FORCIBLE ENTRY AND VENTILATION

  1. Hooking, Dragging, Pushing, Inappropriate Swing, or losing control of hammer (e.g., flying out of hands)*¹˒²

EVENT #4: FIRE EXTINGUISHING AND RESCUE SIMULATION (cumulative time)

  • Dry Hose Drag
  1. Failing to stand with both feet behind the Starting Line*¹
  1. Failing to drag one (1) hose at a time*¹
  2. Walking backwards while dragging the hose*¹
  3. Dragging the end coupling*¹
  4. Failing to cross the Finish Line with both feet and coupling (for each of the two [2] hose lines)*¹˒²
  5. Failing to place coupling on the ground (for each of the two [2] hose lines)*¹
  6. Running back to the second section of hose*¹
  7. Failing to cross the Finish Line between the cones*1,2
  8. Running to the hose bundle*¹
  • Hose Bundle Carry and Multi Story Stair Climb (1st – 4th floors)

***All warnings for multi-story stair climb accumulate from 1st – 6th floors.

  1. Failing to have one (1) hand on the railing and one (1) hand on the bundle**¹
  2. Skipping steps while climbing stairs**¹
  3. Using railing to assist in climbing stairs**²
  4. Failing to place the bundle in the designated areas (the yellow boxes)*¹
  • Tool Bundle Hoist
  1. Allowing both feet to be free of contact with the floor at any time*¹
  2. Stepping on the rope in an effort to gain an advantage*¹
  3. Wrapping the rope around hands or any other part of the body*¹˒²
  • Hose Bundle Carry and Multi Story Stair Climb (4th – 6th floors)

***all warnings for multi story stairs climb accumulate from 1st – 6th floors.

  1. Failing to have one (1) hand on the railing and one (1) hand on the bundle**¹
