SEARCH CITY OF MIAMI:

AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) provides full-time members to nonprofit, faith-based and other community organizations, and public agencies to create and expand programs that ultimately bring low-income individuals and communities out of poverty.

Through the VISTA Partnership, the City of Miami sponsors VISTA members who are placed at different community-based and faith-based organizations throughout the City’s poorest neighborhoods. This outreach to the non-profit service community allows them to build capacity, develop resources and mobilize volunteers in an ongoing effort to reduce poverty. The Miami VISTA Partnership began with a grant award from the Corporation for National and Community Service and the arrival of the first VISTA members in July 2005. Thanks to match funding from the Mayor’s Poverty Initiative, this program is positioning VISTA members to focus on resource development and serve as liaisons to City resources, allowing local agencies to help more City residents.

The City of Miami VISTA Partnership seeks a VISTA Leader to coach, motivate, coordinate and inspire 24 VISTA members in non-profits throughout the City!

If you have served a year with AmeriCorps, VISTA  or NCCC, or two years with the Peace Corps, you qualify.
