The VISTA program, the “domestic Peace Corps,” is an invaluable opportunity to serve your community and learn marketable skills. For 40 years, VISTA has been helping bring communities and individuals out of poverty. Help us by serving at one of many community-based and faith-based organizations in the City of Miami.

- Community Organizing

- Financial Literacy

- Capacity Building

 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- A full-time one-year commitment (no other employment or schooling allowed)

- High school graduates, college students, college graduates, retirees, volunteers

- Must be at least 18 years old and US Citizen or Permanent Resident

- Fluency in the English language with good writing skills

- People with a strong desire to help fellow man improve their lives, as well as their own

 

 

BENEFITS

- Living Allowance of $10,900 per year

- Education Award of $4,725 or $1,200 stipend

- Medical Coverage

- Relocation Allowance up to $550

- Non Competitive Eligibility for Federal Service jobs

- Child care, if eligible

- Training with travel costs covered

 

 

TIMELINE

2. If selected, you will be matched with a community-based or faith-based organization that fits your

    Interests

3. Attend Pre-Service Orientation training in Atlanta, Georgia with travel costs covered

4. Begin your Year of Service in Miami!
