    • In 2004, South Florida was selected by the Economist Intelligence Unit Survey as the preferred regional headquarters for trade in the Americas and in 2003 by America Economía as the best place to do business in the Americas.
  • South Florida trade with the Western Hemisphere: $48.4 billion.
    • Out of Miami’s top 100 trade partners, 42 are with the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • South Florida trade with Europe: $8.9 billion
    • 26 of Miami’s top 100 trading partners are European countries, with hundreds of European companies utilizing Miami as a launching pad for their Latin America and Caribbean business ventures.
  • South Florida trade with Asia, the Middle East and Oceania: $7.8 billion
    • These countries make up 25 of Miami’s top trade partners, with China ranking seventh at $3.4 billion.
  • South Florida trade with Africa: $288 Million
