board, comprised of nine members, one alternate
and one School Board member, usually meets on
the first and third Wednesday of every month at
7:00 PM at Miami City Hall. For more detailed
information, please refer to Chapter 62 of the
Miami City Code. The Board’s purpose is
generally:
- To advise and make recommendations
to the City Commission concerning
amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, the
Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan,
the Miami City Code and Major Use
Special Permits.
This department processes applications
from the public and the City for:
- Amendments to the Miami
Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan (Land
Use Changes)
- Amendments to Miami Zoning Ordinance
and Zoning Atlas (Zoning Changes)
initiated by the City
- Amendments to the Miami City Code
- Major Use Special Permits, including
Special Exceptions, Variances and Zoning
Changes, which are a component of the
project.
The deadline for items to be
placed on an agenda is usually the first
five working days of each month. Items
on the agenda are placed by the Planning
Department. This department schedules
and organizes:

- Resolutions
