Agendas
This board, comprised of
7 members and 2
alternate, usually meets 3 times a month at 5:00 PM at Miami
City Hall and its purpose is generally:
- To issue orders having the force of law
commanding whatever steps are necessary to
bring a code violation into compliance.
Our department typically processes code
violations to the Zoning Ordinance, the
Miami City Code, the South Florida Building
Code and the Fire Prevention Code, for
example:
- Encroachment in Setbacks
- Failure to Maintain Exterior Surface of
Building
- Illegal Units
- No Adequate Means of Egress
- No Certificate of Use
- No Valid Occupational Licenses
- Working without a Permit
The deadline for cases placed on the
regular agenda is usually 30 days in
advance, when the inspector subpoenas the
violator. Extensions of time and mitigated
cases on the special agenda are also
approximately 30 days. This department
schedules and organizes:

- Collection of all Fees
- Enforcement Orders, which upon
recordation in the public records of
Miami-Dade County, will constitute a
lien
- Meetings
- Notices
- Releases of Liens
