This board of City Commissioners,
comprised of 5 members, usually meets on the
last Thursday of every month for its
Planning and Zoning portion after 10:00 AM
at Miami City Hall. This department
processes public and City applications and
petitions for:
- Amendments to the Miami City Code
- Amendments to the Miami Comprehensive
Neighborhood Plan (Land Use Changes)
- Amendments to Miami Zoning Ordinance and
Zoning Atlas (Zoning Changes) initiated by
the City
- Appeals (from cases heard by the
Historic and Environmental Preservation
Board and the Zoning Board)
- Major Use Special Permits, including
Special Exceptions, Variances and Zoning
Changes, which are a component of the
project.
- Official Vacation and Closure of Streets
and Alleys
- Special Exceptions
The deadline for items placed on an
agenda is usually 30 days of the Planning
Advisory Board and/or the Zoning Board. This
department schedules and organizes:
- Advertisements
- Agendas
- Backup Documentation
- Meetings
- Notices
- Postings
