THE DIVISION OF PAYROLL AND SUPPORT SERVICES
Payroll, which joined the Department of Employee Relations in 2005, perform a vital function: ensuring that employees are paid on time and that their paychecks are accurate. The Payroll staff works in coordination with Employee Relations, Labor Division, and Directors to compute and distribute employee compensation accurately, in accordance with City policies, federal and state laws, and contractual agreements.
The Payroll division performs a wide variety of functions including preparation of annual reports, monthly financial reports, record keeping, deduction processing, direct deposit, resignation/retirement/terminations payout, pay changes, and retro payments. Payroll Division is responsible to provide efficient and timely respond to employees at all levels within the city and ensure to maintain the City’s payroll system up to date with the latest legislations.
SUPPORT SERVICES
Support Service, is responsible for the KRONOS time keeping system, functional implementation of software packages, and third party software utilized in many departments, as well as increasing the efficiency and accuracy in the time and payroll reporting system. Such work includes the integration of Kronos with Moore Payroll and Phase II of the iMiAMi project. In addition, they are responsible to ensure to provide on going support to Phase I of the iMiami project. The Support Service staff support compliance across the organization, including implementing and maintaining an effective process of internal controls meeting best business practice in a manner consistent with City policies and procedures.
