CITY OF MIAMI URGES RESIDENTS TO SEPARATE VEGETATION FROM TRASH TO ASSIST CREWS WITH PICK-UP

(Miami, FL.)
— The City of Miami is urging residents to separate their trash (i.e. large material items such as tiles and construction materials) from vegetation (i.e. branches, leaves, and trees) to help expedite the Hurricane Wilma clean-up effort. When trash and vegetation are co-mingled, crews have to take the time to separate the items or they may be forced to leave the items behind.

At this time, the City has had a total of 52 crews dedicated to debris pick-up throughout the city. The amount of staff working on this effort is expected to increase on Wednesday to between 70 and 90 crews.

We are asking residents to help us as we work to clean up the City of Miami and restore it as soon as possible.
