 CITY OF MIAMI GARBAGE AND
DEBRIS COLLECTION CONTINUES

(Miami, Fla.)- The Department of Solid Waste has been working diligently to collect the debris left over by Hurricane Wilma and continue to conduct regular garbage collection As of November 1st, the Department has collected over 191,000 cubic yards of debris and anticipates the collection of over 800,000 once the clean up operation is completed.

In an effort to clear the roads from Hurricane Wilma and continue regularly scheduled garbage and trash pick up, the City of Miami Department of Solid Waste is advising its residents of the following:

Garbage should be put out for the regularly-scheduled pick-up. If your garbage is NOT collected on the scheduled date, please leave it out as it will be collected the following morning. Due to Hurricane Wilma, there may be a short delay in garbage collection.

Residents should separate vegetation from other trash and bulky items to expedite the Hurricane Wilma city-wide clean-up effort.

Garbage should be placed in an accessible location. Please do not park in front of the garbage or place any other items around it to help clean-up efforts

Garbage collection continues on schedule with the caveat that if the garbage is not collected on the scheduled date, then it will be collected on the next day. Crews are working seven days a week to accomplish all garbage collection for the City of Miami.

For more information or concerns, please call 311 so that it may be properly documented and resolved.
