ABOUT THE ICE MACHINE BEING LEASED BY CITY OF MIAMI |
(Miami, FL.)— In line with its
proactive approach to the need for ice in the community after Hurricane
Wilma, the City of Miami has leased a WATECH Mobile Ice Plant for 14
days. This unique machine has been in operation at the Orange Bowl since
Thursday night (October 27th) at 8:00 pm and has made 16 tons of ice to
date.
On Saturday, October 29, 2005, the machine will be making ice at Legion
Park, 6447 NE 7 Ave. Media is welcome to get footage of the machine as
it creates and bags the ice for distribution.
Below is a list of additional facts about the mobile ice plant.
• The WATECH Mobile Ice Plant is a self-contained, trailer-mounted, high
volume ice production facility designed to meet the needs of
humanitarian relief efforts or military operations in extreme
environments.
Produces 20 tons of bagged ice per day
• Completely self-contained: requires only fuel and water to operate
• Capable of producing ice within 45 minutes of arrival
• Evaporative condensing system ensures consistent operation in high
heat
• Simple to operate with automated system management and on-board
diagnostics
