(Miami, FL.)— The City of Miami has taken a uniquely proactive approach to the ice shortage caused by Hurricane Wilma by purchasing an ice machine that makes one ton of ice an hour. As of 6:30 pm on Thursday evening, the machine has been creating ice and bagging it at the Orange Bowl Stadium in preparation for mass distribution on Friday. The machine is self-powered and uses water provided by a fire hydrant.

Media wanting to obtain footage of this unique and efficient ice machine should go to the Southwest parking lot of the Orange Bowl stadium where the City of Miami has stationed its command post.
