ACM’s and Directors:
Ensure all employees are aware of
and comply with the following revised policies regarding MRC
security. It is important to include
those not assigned to the MRC, but who visit the facility, as well as those not
having e-mail access.
All Employees:
City
ID’s are to be worn at all times in a conspicuous location as to proved
immediate identification while on or in MRC property. Removing an I.D. from a coat pocket or purse, for example, to
gain access and then returning it to that location is not acceptable - the I.D.
will be worn at all times.
Employees
(including full-time, part-time, temporary, and contracted) who do not have a
city I.D. will present a photo I.D. at the main lobby security desk and sign-in
on a daily basis. Employees who fail to
present a photo City I.D. on five occasions will be required to submit a red
line memo to his/her department director justifying failure to present the I.D.
City of
Miami police officers and firefighters will wear a City I.D. when wearing
civilian attire or a uniform not requiring a name plate and badge. T-shirts with police or firefighter logo
will not preclude the requirement of wearing a City I.D.
Absent
emergency circumstances, do not attempt to gain access to the parking
garage without an access card. You
must park in Lot 16 or 17 until a new or replacement card is secured. Replacement cards are available through
the MRC Facility Manager at a cost of $25.
If the emergency circumstances warrant parking in the garage, the
employee will be required to show identification and sign in at the front desk.
Employees
are not to use their access cards to provide access to the parking garage or
fitness center for those who do not have a card. Employees utilizing the fitness center will not open the entrance
door for those who do not have a card.
Employees
arriving prior to 6:00 a.m. and/or departing after 7:00 p.m. on regular work
days or anytime on weekends or holidays, will sign in and/or out at the main
lobby security desk.
Employees,
when requested by security personnel, will show the contents of packages,
cartons, and the like, which are being removed from the facility. Items of an obvious personal nature, such
as handbags, brief cases, gym bags, and the like, will not be searched unless
such searches are conducted in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Removal of City computer equipment
requires an authorization form from the Department of Information Technology.
Individuals
needing a City I.D. are to have their Department forward a memo to that effect
to Human Resources who will in turn generate an I.D. Authorization Form.
Badge
holders and clips are available at the MRC main lobby security desk.
Any
questions regarding this policy should be directed to me at (305) 416-1025.
