AFSCME GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
FLOW CHART
STEP 1:
A)
GRIEVANT:
Grieves by meeting with immediate supervisor within five (5) working
days of occurrence.
B)
CLASS
ACTION:
Grievances shall go directly to Step 3 with-in the same time period.
C)
IMMEDIATE
SUPERVISOR:
Hears grievance and responds within five (5) working days.
STEP 2:
A)
GRIEVANT/AFSCME:
Appeals to the
Department Head within five (5) working days from time response was issued or
due at Step 1.
B)
DEPARTMENT
HEAD:
Meets with
grievant/and or AFSCME and responds in writing within five (5) working days
from receipt of appeal.
STEP 3:
A)
GRIEVANT/AFSCME:
Appeals to Labor
Relations within seven (7) working days from time response was issued or due at
Step 2.
B)
LABOR
RELATIONS:
Meets with grievant
and/or AFSCME and responds in writing within seven (7) working days from
receipt of appeal.
STEP 4:
A)
GRIEVANT/AFSCME:
If grievance is
unresolved may request to go to arbitration within seven (7) working days after
Labor Relations’ response.
