Mission
The mission of the Office
of Communications is to facilitate
communication, both internally and
externally in a reliable, ethical
and resourceful manner and to
provide programming for and about
the City of Miami and its citizens
in an effort to educate, inform and
enhance our community.
Goals
The Office of Communications is
a service-oriented department with a
number of responsibilities that are
crucial to the success of the City
of Miami including:
●To provide citizens of Miami
with important information that
will assist them with their
everyday lives
●To provide the public with
information about important
strides made by City departments
●To act as a liaison for
reporters seeking information
about the City
●To act as the lead department
for the City’s website
●To create original programming
for City of Miami Television and
air public meetings on the
channel
●To
work collaboratively with other
departments and the offices of
the Mayor and City Commissioners
to assist them with press
conferences and presentations
●To ensure that all of the City’s
communications tools are
upgraded to meet today’s
technical standards
