CITY OF MIAMI SOLID
WASTE MAINTAINS ONLY REGULARLY-SCHEDULED GARBAGE AND BULKY
TRASH PICK-UP
|
(Miami, FL)- The City of Miami
Department of Solid Waste will only be conducting regularly scheduled
garbage, recycling, and trash pick-up for the remainder of the week.
Residents should be advised that if their items have already been
collected this week, they should not put out additional items in
preparation for Hurricane Wilma. Solid Waste crews will not be
making any extra rounds at this time.
Residents are advised to secure their trash/bulky items until after the
storm threat has passed as leaving them in the street can pose a hazard
in strong winds where they have the potential to become airborne and
cause damage to the surrounding area. The City also emphasizes that this
is not the time to begin to prune trees. Residents that need to get
rid of bulky items and trash right away can drop items off at the City’s
mini-dump, which is located at 1290 NW 20th St. and is open daily from
7:00 am to 5:30 pm (until weather permits).
Please note regularly scheduled garbage trash and recycling collection
(scheduled daily from 7:00am to 3:30pm) will continue through Friday
while weather conditions permit.
City Ordinance prohibits the placement of trash on the public
right-of-way before the next scheduled pick-up date; violation notices
will be issued.
Please continue to monitor Hurricane Wilma and local news for possible
advisories. Residents are advised to call our Customer Service section
with any questions or concerns from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 305-575-5107
or call 311.
