New Day For City of Miami Elected Officials
-Mayor Manny Diaz and City Commissioners Joe Sanchez, District Three,
Michelle Spence-Jones, District Five Are Officially Sworn In-

(Miami, FL)- The City of Miami has officially sworn in re-elected Mayor Manny Diaz and City Commissioners Joe Sanchez, District Three and Michelle Spence-Jones, District Five on Friday, December 2, 2005 at City Hall. The newly elected officials are marking a new era with the vision to make a difference for the city by listening and taking action to the issues that affect the community.

“I want to thank you all for trusting me with the vision of a better Miami. The people of Miami have spoken and people want to see more done and less talk.” said the re-elected Mayor Manny Diaz. It is my hope that the next four years we continue to make the City of Miami the best city in the nation and in the world”

The successful event was well attended by local and state elected officials as well as the community in support of the Mayor and the newly elected Commissioners. Many cheered as Mayor Diaz reflected in the past and promised a bright future for the city.

“Anchored in stable homes, our families can continue to build stronger communities… Building stable, affordable communities is where our common sense meets our morality,” said Commissioner Joe Sanchez.

“I am humbled and honored that the voters chose me to be their City of Miami Commissioner,” said the newly sworn in Michelle Spence-Jones. “I have many people counting on me to make a difference for District Five and I promise I will not let you down.”

The City of Miami newly elected officials received the blessing of religious community leaders and the community, as the focus will be to continue to encourage the community to become one unified voice towards the common one common goal: make the City of Miami be the best city in the nation and the world.
