(Miami, Florida)—The City of Miami
Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones along with CRA Director, Frank
Rollason presented a check for the amount of $17,422 to Rodolfo
Lorenzo from L & J Grocery Corp, a grant recipient from the Overtown
Business Initiative Program funded by the Community Redevelopment Agency
(CRA).
The monies will allow L & J Grocery Corp. to purchase new equipment that
will help improve and extend the company.
L & J Grocery Corp. has been at the same location for more than 10
years, providing the community with a variety of products such as meats,
fruits, vegetables, canned goods, clothes and more.
The Overtown Business Initiative was created by the Community
Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to provide resources for redeveloping the
southeast area of Overtown and to improve the economic well-being of the
area. This program has already funded local businesses in the Third
Avenue corridor.
