(Miami, Florida)—The City of Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones along with CRA Director, Frank Rollason presented a check for the amount of $17,422 to Rodolfo Lorenzo from L & J Grocery Corp, a grant recipient from the Overtown Business Initiative Program funded by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).

The monies will allow L & J Grocery Corp. to purchase new equipment that will help improve and extend the company.

L & J Grocery Corp. has been at the same location for more than 10 years, providing the community with a variety of products such as meats, fruits, vegetables, canned goods, clothes and more.

The Overtown Business Initiative was created by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to provide resources for redeveloping the southeast area of Overtown and to improve the economic well-being of the area. This program has already funded local businesses in the Third Avenue corridor.
