Bayfront Park’s FREE New Year’s Eve
Event is the Place to Be

Miami, FL – It’s time to ring in the New Year and the place to be is Downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park for the largest FREE party in South Florida! Start at Bayside Marketplace with shopping, dining and free entertainment, then head south to Bayfront Park Amphitheater for a free concert starting at 8:00 p.m., and count down to midnight with the Big Orange. This New Year’s Eve icon will slowly ascend the side of The Hotel Intercontinental, reaching the top at midnight in conjunction with a grand display of fireworks. The fireworks display, over beautiful Biscayne Bay, can be viewed from anywhere in Bayfront Park and Bayside Marketplace.

Co-headlining the free concert at Bayfront Park Amphitheater are the legendary disco acts Rose Royce and France Joli.

Rose Royce, of “Car Wash” fame, has enjoyed a twenty-nine year recording career and has several hits that are still being played around the world today. These include such sensations as “Love Don't Live Here Anymore,” “Do Your Dance,” “I'm In Love,” “I Wanna Get Next To You,” and “Wishing On A Star,” just to name a few. In addition, many artists have covered Rose Royce's timeless songs such as “Car Wash” (Christina Aguilera / Missy Elliot), “Love Don't Live Here Anymore” (Madonna), “I'm Going Down” (Mary J Blige), and others.

France Joli joined the ranks of stardom at age 16, with her very first single, “Come to Me.” This solid gold, disco classic reached #1 on Billboard’s dance chart, #13 on its pop chart, and was included on the soundtrack of the Miramax movie “54.” Today, Joli is an award-winning, international recording artist who performs to enthusiastic audiences around the world. She has seven albums to her credit, and her top ten, hit singles include “Let Go,” “Don’t Stop Dancing,” “Playboy,” “Feel Like Dancing,” “Heart to Break The Heart,” “Gonna Get Over You,” and “Partylights.”

Also on the bill are Colombian artists Ciclón. Literally translated as cyclone, this duo likens themselves to a hurricane of happiness - with their mix of sound including strong rhythm and sentiment, Vallenato and an urban beat. Their current, self-titled album includes their hit single “Pegaito,” which is receiving airplay throughout the United States and Spain. Ciclon’s international appeal continues to expand, allowing them to share the stage with many talented artists such as Carlos Vives, Joe Arroyo, Ricardo Montaner, Chayanne and Alejandro Sanz.
