MAYOR MANNY DIAZ AND CHAIRMAN JOE SANCHEZ TO HONOR CUBAN HERITAGE AT RIBBON CUTTING FOR CUBAN MEMORIAL BOULEVARD PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY

MIAMI – Join Mayor Manny Diaz, Chairman Joe Sanchez and City Commissioners for the ribbon cutting event 3-6 p.m. Saturday October 8 on Cuban Memorial Boulevard at SW 19th Street. The event will officially open the pedestrian pathway along the median of Cuban Memorial Boulevard between Calle Ocho and Coral Way. The free event also will celebrate Grito de Yara – the start of the battle for Cuba’s Independence.

“We have enhanced Cuban Memorial Boulevard 100 percent with a shaded, wheelchair-accessible pedestrian pathway that allows families to walk between the beautiful Coral Way and historic Calle Ocho corridors,” said Miami City Commissioner Joe Sanchez, who represents Little Havana. “We also improved landscaping, curbs, pavement and drainage along the boulevard.”

This very visual event will showcase Miami’s diverse people and our continuing commitment to complete neighborhood improvement projects in the Heart of Little Havana.

Come celebrate our Cuban Heritage, American Freedom and International Diversity by covering this colorful red, white & blue event featuring free concerts by Gran Orquesta de la Pequeña Habana, conducted by Omar Reyes, and Roberto Torres and his orchestra.
