(Miami, Florida)—City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, along with Miami Commission Chairman Joe Sanchez, Miami Commissioner Tomas Regalado, City Manager Joe Arriola, Dr. Roberto Godoy, Jr. Executive Director and representatives of the Model Housing Cooperative, Inc., Miami-Dade County Commissioner Bruno Barreiro, representatives from Sun Trust Bank, city administrators, community leaders and area neighbors will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for Villas Dr. Godoy, Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at 10:30am, 1479 West Flagler Street.

Villas Dr. Godoy is a four floor residential and one floor parking, retail and common areas condominium with 32 units, 2 bedroom, 2 baths and 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, for low to moderate income families. All units have private balconies with central air conditioning, washer dryers, and fully equipped kitchens with refrigerator, range, dishwasher and food disposal. The building is handicapped accessible according to federal codes.

The project is a public/private partnership with funding from several sources including City of Miami Department of Community Development HOME funds as well as Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade Housing Agency, and SunTrust Bank totaling $6,100,680.00.
