FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO
LINK ART DISTRICTS
DURING ART BASEL WEEK
|
(Miami, Florida) – The City of
Miami, with the sponsorship of the Miami Downtown Development Authority
and Miami-Dade County Transit Authority, will provide a park-and-ride
shuttle service in the City’s Art Districts. This shuttle will connect
galleries and art fairs throughout the Wynwood, Design and Downtown
areas during Art Basel Week. The shuttle will run Thursday morning,
Friday and Saturday evenings; it is during these times that the Art
Districts are expecting the majority of their audience.
These shuttles are being provided to help alleviate the issue of parking
and will serve to enhance the connection between the different art
venues in the three districts. The shuttle stops will be clearly
identified; maps of the shuttle service will be available on-board the
shuttles and at most major galleries and art fairs. The shuttle maps
were designed by students from the Miami International University of Art
& Design with the guidance of Urbana Magazine.
An additional shuttle service will be provided on Saturday night for the
Art Loves Design Event in the Miami Design District. This shuttle will
run in a loop down Federal Highway from NE 54th St. to 39th St, then
proceed North on NE 2nd Avenue to NE 54th St. back to Federal Highway.
For more information, please contact the Mayor’s Office of Film, Arts
& Entertainment: (305) 860-3823.
