Actor and Director
|
(Miami, Florida) – The Commissioners
of the City of Miami under the leadership of Hon. Manny Diaz, Mayor of
Miami, has named NE 10th Street – between Biscayne Blvd. and NW 1st
Street – in honor and in memory of late Actor and Director Jose Ferrer.
The dedication was initiated by the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of
South Florida and Professa, the Puerto Rican Professional Organization
to honor the late actor who resided in and contributed greatly to
Miami’s developing arts community.
Jose Ferrer was born José Vincente Ferrer de Otero y Cintrón in Puerto
Rico. He pursued a long and successful career as an actor and director

Ferrer was named Artistic Director of Coconut Grove Playhouse in 1982
