Unveiling Ceremony of Botero Sculpture

(Miami, FL October 23, 2017) - Renowned Colombian artist and sculptor, William Fernando Botero, has graciously donated to the City of Miami a masterful piece of art named "ARA PACIS," Latin for Altar of Peace. The sculpture has been permanently installed at Margaret Pace Park.

Symbolizing human rights and global peace, "ARA PACIS" is dedicated to the millions of victims of gun violence. 

Mayor Tomas Regalado and Commission Vice-Chairman Ken Russell will present a Proclamation at an unveiling ceremony on October 25, 2017, declaring "City of Miami Human Rights and World Peace Day" for the first time in Miami's history.
