City of Miami Starts New Mentoring Partnership with Take Stock in Children Miami

(Miami, FL January 24, 2017) - City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado will host the official launch of Graduation Coaches.   These coaches are City of Miami employees and residents who will provide one-on-one mentoring to at-risk students at school and Take Stock in Children Miami will provide scholarships for them to attend college. The initiative is based on the Cities of Service Graduation Coaches Blueprint.

Cities of Service, with support from JP Morgan Chase, established a new cohort of Chief Service Officers (CSOs) in three major U.S. cities, including Miami.  As the City's first CSO, Raul Hernandez directs, coordinates, and evaluates the implementation of the City's first comprehensive, service plan that engages citizen volunteers in communities where they can have significant impact.
