City of Miami Gets Its Kids Ready for Back to School

Multiple backpack giveaways taking place this week!
3,000 backpacks total to be given out!

(Miami, FL August 3, 2016) - City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado through the generosity of event sponsors and with the coordination of several City departments will help City of Miami children prepare for their first day of school by giving away 1,000 backpacks on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Regatta Park.

The Little Haiti/Edison/Little River Neighborhood Enhancement Team (N.E.T.), the Green Family Foundation and Partners will celebrate their annual "Back 2 School" event on Friday, August 5th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Little Haiti Soccer Park.

Mayor Regalado, Commission Chairman Keon Hardemon, the Overtown Neighborhood Enhancement Team along with sponsors will distribute school supply filled backpacks to overtown residents at the Overtown Backpack Giveaway and Resource Fair on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. at Dorsey Park.
