Management Trust Chairman Frank Carollo invites the public to the official launching of the Miami Science Barge, on Earth Day April 22nd

(Miami, April 19, 2016) - This coming Earth Day, the much anticipated Miami Science Barge will be unveiled for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and inaugural field trip of the newest addition to the Biscayne Bay. Bayfront Park Management Trust Chairman Frank Carollo welcomes all residents and members of the public to join the entire community in the unveiling of this urban innovation lab and education center.

The Miami Science Barge is powered by renewable energy, will house an urban sustainable farm, and be located in downtown Miami's Museum Park on Biscayne Bay.  The Science Barge is expected to have over 8,000 students and teachers each year, and thousands of Miami's visitors and residents.

As the Chairman of Bayfront Park Management Trust, Commissioner Carollo encourages everyone on Earth Day, April 22nd to visit Museum Park for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"The Science Barge serves as a symbol of Miami's diversity not only in people, but in ideas, as well as, a symbol of our community's commitment to environmental education," said Commissioner Carollo. "The Miami Science Barge is showcasing innovative environmental ideas and bringing an innovative classroom right here to Downtown."
