Miami Love Project#
The goal of the Miami Love Project is to provide alternative programs to youth at risk through collaboration with the public and private sectors along with the support of the community. The program was founded in 1994 by Barbara Wade and has grown into a successful endeavor which has encouraged many of City of Miami's youths to focus on positive role models and get involved in safe and fun activities.
Many regularly scheduled activities such as the HEAT Basketball League give participants the opportunity to interact with professional and semi-professional athletes as well as gain civic awareness by participating in special events such as Mile of Men March, the Neighborhood Role Models Program and the Conflict Resolution Team.
The Miami Love Project has successfully established partnerships with the Florida Marlins, the Miami Heat, Nike, the University of Miami and Miami-Dade College to facilitate access to a series of exceptional experiences that would otherwise be unavailable to the population served by this program.
Thanks to the hard work of Barbara Wade and her dedicated staff and the sponsors Miami Love works with, a dramatic difference is made in the life of these youth. For more information on the program please contact Barbara Wade at (305) 416-1323.
Summer months is a slow time for our outdoor events due to the heat, but we invite you to get in touch to find out about our upcoming fall events.
