Learn-To-Swim Lessons are offered during the months of March through November in 4 (2xweek for 4 weeks) week sets for $35 for city residents and $45 for non-city residents (money orders only). There are different levels for learn-to-swim to allow your child to start with basic skills and then move on to stroke technique and proper swim form. Each level they graduate from makes them a stronger swimmer. Our instructors are American Red Cross certified and enjoy the experience of teaching children how to be safe in and near the water. Please refer to the list of pools above and contact your closet pool to find out more about their Learn-To-Swim classes. Private lessons are also available at all year-round sites.
Other water activities
Kayaking - Did you know for $5 an hour for residents and $10 for non-residents you can tour the Biscayne Bay. At Morningside Park, located at 750 NE 55 Terrance you can rent a single or tandem kayak and explore the neighboring picnic island and coast along the Biscayne Bay. This is a great site to try out kayaking and see if it is a sport suited to your physical abilities. Have guests coming from out of town? Kayaking in the bay can be a once in a life time experience as if you are luck you will see dolphins, manatees and lots of tropical birds as you paddle. Sailing - If you prefer to let the wind do all the work for you, then you may want to check out the sail boat rental at the Morningside Park Water Front house. Located at 750 NE 55 Terrance, these three person skiffs allow you to feel the wind in your hair and the power of the ocean. Limited to two people per trip, accompanied by a park's staff, you will be able to cruise along the bay and enjoy the scenic environment. Rentals are $35.00 for 2 hours for residents and $45.00 for non--residents. For more information on either rentals please call 305-754-1242.
