City of Miami Breaks Ground for New Soccer and Recreation Center in Little Haiti

“The Little Haiti Park Project will finally provide residents with the opportunity to enjoy a park right in their backyard,” states City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz. “This project will enhance Little Haiti’s rich culture and will allow children to play soccer or any other activity that may be of interest at a facility in their very own neighborhood.” The Little Haiti Park Project will be built in two phases and aims to bring a first class recreational, social and sports complex with a Caribbean flavor to suit the expectations of the majority of the Haitian community in this area. The scope of work incompasses one FIFA regulation soccer field, one practice soccer field, 10 station fitness trail, sports lighting, fixed bleachers with restrooms, concession and field storage areas below the bleachers, toddler playground and splash park, with open picnic shelters, open domino park shelters and a field maintenance building.
