Mayor Manny Diaz Joins Royal Caribbean’s G.I.V.E Volunteer Day
-Projects Held Throughout the City of Miami During Florida’s Largest Volunteer Day-
October 1, 2004 - (Miami, FL) - Miami Mayor Manny Diaz will join hundreds of employees from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. as they roll up their sleeves on Saturday, Oct. 2, to spruce up schools, youth centers and other inner-city public areas in Miami as part of Royal Caribbean's annual G.I.V.E. Day activities.
Mayor Diaz will join over 200 Royal Caribbean volunteers in Historic Overtown as they paint and landscape the home of Overtown Legend Clyde Killens. They will be joined by members of Overtown’s NET team. Ten projects are planned in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Several events will be held in the City of Miami, including:
Now in its seventh consecutive year, G.I.V.E. ("Get Involved Volunteer Everywhere") Day is a community service event that brings out Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises employees, their families and friends to help nonprofit organizations improve the quality of life in their communities. Royal Caribbean's G.I.V.E. Day has become the largest corporate volunteer day organized by a Florida company.
