City of Miami Television, Channel 77, Awarded for Its Informative and Innovative Programming

City of Miami Channel 77 - Where Community Comes First!
(Miami, FL)—City of Miami Television, Channel 77, has come of age. No longer the “little station that was” CMTV has made its mark in the world of government access television. Greatly recognized at the 24th Annual Government Programming Awards from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors, City of Miami Television received 4 Awards and 3 Honorable Mentions to proudly bring home.
In the Visual Arts Category, City of Miami TV (CMTV) took 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place for “Kids Corner” an educational program for children, "Station ID-Where Community Comes First” and “Miami Bite” a culinary journey through some of Miami’s unique eating spots. Three Honorable Mentions were awarded in the Documentary Category for “Our Pride-Chief Dixon”, in the Community Awareness Category for "Heart of Our Parks: Program for Persons with Disabilities” and in the Public Safety Category, for “Miami 911-Car in the Canal.” For Excellence in Programming Category, CMTV took 3rd Place in the nation, for “City of Miami Television-Where Community Comes First”.
Through the creative and innovative efforts of our production staff, City of Miami Television puts together a variety of programs, informing, educating and entertaining our residents, while showcasing the city’s services and programs, departments, events, wonderful food, arts scene and culture, within the amazing beauty and diversity of our city. In addition, it broadcasts City Commissions and Board Meetings and brings programming in English, Spanish and Creole for the benefit of all our residents.

About Government Programming Awards The Government Programming Awards (GPAs) are annual awards that recognize excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies. Categories cover a variety of programming including, among others, community events, documentary, public affairs and public service, interview/talk show, performing arts, sports, election coverage and children’ s issues. Celebrating over 24 years of programming excellence, the 2009 GPA’s celebrates the achievements of government programmers across the nation.
