Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones and P.U.L.S.E. Unveils HotSpot’s “Just Report It” Ads in Liberty City

-Campaign encourages residents to
report illegal activities anonymously-

(Miami, Florida)- After recent shootings and church robberies in the Liberty City area, City of Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones joined by People United to Lead the Struggle for Equality (P.U.L.S.E.), local community members, police, administration and clergy unveiled the HotSpot’s “Just Report It” bus bench ads in Liberty City.

The “Just Report It” ad campaign, which features advertisements with Commissioner Spence-Jones, R& B group Pretty Ricky, Miami Northwestern Football Captain Todd Chandler and several other members from the community, reinforces the importance of residents’ reporting crimes in their neighborhoods. The campaign encourages residents to be proactive about keeping illegal activities out of their neighborhoods by reporting such actions to the police or anonymously by using the Hot Spot card.

Launched in 2007, the HotSpot campaign is a crime prevention initiative spearheaded by Commissioner Spence-Jones and P.U.L.S.E. to empower residents to be vigilant in their neighborhoods and report illegal activities anonymously and without fear of retaliation. Since its inception, over 300 arrests have been made because residents used the HotSpot card.

Commissioner Spence-Jones, P.U.L.S.E. and the City of Miami Goodwill Ambassadors and volunteers canvassed the surrounding area and passed out HotSpot cards.

The HotSpot “Just Report It “ad campaign is made possible by The Office of Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones, P.U.L.S.E., the City of Miami Solid Waste Department, NET Offices, Code Enforcement Department, Miami Police, City of Miami Community Relations Board, Keep Miami Beautiful and the Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust.
